It's hard to miss the differences between people who are far from God and the people of God in Psalm 17.

David asks God to deliver his soul from men, O Lord, from men of the world whose portion is in this life. v.14

On the other hand, David, who personifies God's people declares, As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with your likeness.

People far from God are satisfied with the world's temporary offerings; the godly are satisfied only in seeing God and beholding God's likeness. v.15

What brings ultimate satisfaction? My mouth says, THE LORD. But on a day to day basis my life often contradicts my words.

Lord, may my satisfaction be only in you, my Lord and my King. Amen
